Tick Snip

She creeps out of bed naked

in a coat of hours; the time it took for mourning

to meet morning. Curtains drawn and scissors in hand-

tick. Then snip.

Hair falls to the carpet while the mirror pleads

at her shut eyes: please open I crave for your iris to be mine. But no only-

tick. Then snip.

Strand atop strand until scissors cut through empty air;

her hair is gone. Lungs clamp tight, peeling eyes, then cold metal to toes-

tick. Then snip.

Red runs from open holes. Squirming at the failed attempts to breathe

she is dying she is smiling she is ending she is submerging into the lullaby-

tick. Then tick.

What Are You Scared Of?

What are you scared of?

Let me know so I can use it to slit your throat,

so I can carve your flesh a more genuine smile.

Allow me to arouse your fear

and make those neglected thoughts seep into the sharp end

of reality. Let fear kiss your insides. Let fear grow teeth

that exist to violate your one sided bliss;

I want to see your joy begin to seethe.

How can you be so reserved?

You deserve to feel horrified. Snap your spine

there is no need to run when you may crawl,

it would teach you that the perfect escape

is not when you leave as yourself, but as someone else

who feels certain that they are alive. The screams, howls,

gushing guts, split tongues, and the urge to sin

will surely suffice. And wouldn’t it feel nice to know that you are alive?

So I’ll ask you once more:

What are you scared of?

Rubbish Regardless

Rummage through the rubbish

            of your hopes, whispers, prayers

Toss aside the rotten tangerine

Cut your fingers on shards of clay lovers.

Oh, child, listen—or don’t—

the mock, the mockingbird don’t sing

  Not this far from hope,

            from home

Child of weakness,

            watch and pray—or don’t—

Behind the Steel Door

Behind the Steel Door

The double thickness steel door opens wide

Musty darkness gaping from within

Iron hooks hanging from the wooden beam

The chamber’s ready, so is the team

An unwilling, squealing pig

To tear your heart apart

Four strong hands push inside

Then, the door is shut

Outside, life rolls on; inside, one will be cut

Faint little squeals reach my young heart

Then, all is quiet – the deed is done

The double thickness door opens wide

Ah, the steamy gory sight chokes your throat

Fresh, steaming blood crawls up your nose

And enters your living, heaving lungs

From the pink warm carcass crucified

Slit in half and opened up

Hot crimson liquid pours into a tin bowl

For your dinner tomorrow night

Blood sausages - the ones you like so much

Blood everywhere, thick and sticky

Steaming on the floor, on the walls

And on the butchers’ white coats

Pulsing red like Lady Macbeth

Like the hands of the butcher men

Quick, get some water, clean up the mess

The pig’s no more!

Come on, folks

Buy some fresh pork

she cries gently in her dark gloomy room

she knows that her misery won't end very soon

she's no longer happy and was never sad

she just is completely mad

she isn't innocent, she's a complete sinner

she's like the devil, she'll eat you for dinner

she'll stab your back with a thousand knives

but she'll make sure that you're still alive

she will torture you until you're dead

she's always just gonna screw with your head

she'll do cruel, vicious things, she won't let you be

for she will even haunt you when you are asleep

she'll make you eat live bugs and mice

she's gonna force you, she won't be nice

she might look beautiful, but she is the devil

don't ever trust her she is pure evil

she looks for pleasure in other's pain

she's not okay, she's completely insane

The death knell, thrice,

has for me rung.

Sweet harbinger accursed

has sung,

unto my wretched

blackened soul.

Now come for me,

he takes control.

And drags me past

the pearly gates.

The open door

of hell awaits.

On borrowed wing

I say a prayer...

that you will never

meet me there.
